Samantha Redfern is a Singapore-based British artist known for bold, abstract interpretations of urban life and nature. Inspired by Singapore’s vibrant cityscapes and surroundings, she blends structure with spontaneity. Her paintings are rich in color, texture, and movement, often using acrylics, graphite, and mixed media. Redfern’s compositions balance geometric forms with marks, reflecting tension between chaos and order. Since moving to Singapore in 2015, she’s gained recognition for her energetic style and exhibited locally and internationally. Her Haji Lane studio also serves as a creative hub.

Drawn to her unicorn horn and blue hair, she felt like the perfect match for my whimsical art personality. Her skirt is made from an old painting—maximalist, detailed, and full of colour—setting the tone for the rest of her. Glitter nail polish covers her body; cat face paint and green eyes mirror how I saw myself in play. Lightweight wings, paper tape, and colourful leaves evoke motion and magic. The bouquet in her hand and leaves in her hair reflect my deep love for nature. She’s a unicorn, cat, fairy Barbie—imagination made physical, running free through a dream.
