This piece was painted with the intention of challenging the stereotypes around black animals.

In many cultures, black pets are often overlooked

- seen as unlucky, fierce, or unapproachable. Yet in truth, they are some of the warmest, most loyal companions one could ever hope for.

The black base represents the stigma they carry, while the pink sakura blossoms are a symbol of kindness, gentleness, and inner beauty. Just as the flowers bloom brightly against the dark coat, so too do black pets carry love and light within them.

I hope this piece reminds adopters and viewers alike to look beyond appearances, and give these animals the chance they deserve.
