Singapore's vulnerable communities face growing risks from rising temperatures and recurring haze episodes, which can trigger respiratory distress, heat exhaustion, and life-threatening complications for at-risk individuals.

The Singapore Red Cross (SRC) has activated an immediate ground response to protect vulnerable groups from these climate-related risks, building on SRC's sustained commitment to community preparedness and resilience.

Over the next three months, SRC will mobilise volunteers, resources, and community networks to deliver essential protective supplies to local beneficiaries, including seniors living alone, children and families from vulnerable backgrounds, persons with disabilities, and migrant workers, across SRC's community programmes.

Each care package is thoughtfully curated to provide multi-layered protection against heat and haze, addressing three critical areas:

1. Air quality protection – to reduce exposure during haze conditions

2. Heat Management – to help regulate body temperature in high heat

3. Hydration support – to prevent dehydration and heat-related illnesses

Beyond the packages, SRC volunteers will directly engage with beneficiaries to ensure they can use these resources effectively day-to-day.
